5 Reasons to Buy Red Dead Redemption 2 & 5 Reasons to Wait is a post by Adam Mills from Gotta Be Mobile.

Rockstar’s Red Dead Redemption 2 is finally here and many people are trying to decide if the game is worth buying right now. While some of you might want to pickup a copy today, many others are better off waiting.

In late 2016, Rockstar confirmed Red Dead Redemption 2, a follow-up to the studio’s critically acclaimed Red Dead Redemption from 2010.

It took years and years of hard work, but the game is finished and it’s finally available to download on Xbox One and PlayStation 4. The game requires well over 90GB of free space on both platforms.

You can buy Red Dead Redemption 2 from a number of different places including the usual suspects like GameStop, Amazon, and Best Buy.

Like most games, Red Dead Redemption 2 is $ 60 (without a deal) though you can pay more money for a Special Edition or an Ultimate Edition, both of which come with in-game bonus items.

As we push away from the game’s release date, many people are trying to decide if it’s worth putting buying now or waiting a few more weeks for the smoke to settle.

Today we want to share some reasons why you might want to buy Red Dead Redemption 2 today and why you might want to put your wallet away and hold off on buying one of the year’s very best titles.

Buy If You Own a PS4 Pro or Xbox One X

Simply put this is one of the best looking console games of all time and it truly shines on Microsoft’s Xbox One X and PS4 Pro.

There are some huge differences between the four versions (Xbox One, Xbox One X, PS4, PS4 Pro) of Red Dead Redemption 2.

The original Xbox One renders the game at a 864p resolution which is, by far, the lowest of the bunch. By comparison, the PS4 version of the game runs at a native 1080p.

As for the current-gen consoles, Sony’s PS4 Pro renders the game at 1920 x 2160 resolution and upscales it to 4K resolution. Microsoft’s Xbox One X is the only console to run it at a native 4K resolution.

We’ve been playing the game on the Xbox One X on a Samsung KS8000 4K LCD television and the game is absolutely stunning. This is Rockstar’s first game for the current generation of consoles and it absolutely shows.
